Daniel Haston was the son of Swiss-German immigrant, Henrich Hiestand who came to America in about 1727.  Daniel was born in about 1750 and grew up in what is now Page County, VA.

Daniel moved his family to what is now East Tennessee in the mid-1780s.  In about 1805 he settled in southern White County, TN (now Van Buren County) where he lived until his death in 1826.

He was a simple man who left a remarkable legacy of descendants,  many of whom now seek to know more about him.
