However, she was a widow of William Greer at the time of
her marriage to James Ryan, which occurred in Guilford
County, NC.

NOTES:
A Darby Ryan
(born about 1725) received a land grant the same day as Edward in
Guilford County. Ref: Guilford County, NC Deed Book 2, page 108. He
sold his land in 1783 and removed to Surry County, NC. He died there
in 1809. His wife's name was Mary according to the Estate
Settlement. Were Edward and Darby brothers? (Information from Jesse
