The Cherokee Creek Baptist Church, near Jonesborough, TN (in Washington County), was organized in 1783. We know that Abraham Hiestand and his family affiliated themselves with that church and that Abraham's property was located on the same creek for which the church was named. We know too that a Daniel Haston, possibly the same Daniel Haston who later moved to Knox and White counties, lived in that area during the first decade of the church's history.
